Vancouver Trip!

Hi Everyone!

So a couple weeks ago, my friend: Vanessa, older sister: Nicole and I traveled down to Vancouver for the long weekend. Vanessa and I were going down to see my BFF Chelsey!!!! (Who recently moved down to the big city for school) The trip, was… interesting. We had some car troubles, twice actually, but in the end we made it there safe and sound! We were perhaps a little shaken by everything though!

As usual, when I go to Vancouver I always end up spending waaay to much money. I filmed a haul for you all! It took me three tries, the first two were “too long” by YouTubes standards, .38 seconds too long! Darn, so I filmed it again, this time I tried to be fast in order to cut the time down.

I will post some pictures after the video!! 🙂

As some of you may or may not know, I lived in Vancouver for about 10 months in 2010. Seems like a life time ago! I decided to take Chelsey and Vanessa to a couple of my favourite spots that my boyfriend showed me when we lived in Vancouver.

I also just realized that it would be a good idea to do some swatches of the makeup products that I bought for you all! I have to run off to class, but will do it when I am home from work later!

Thanks for reading 🙂

***** I did not take these pictures, my dearest friend Chelsey took these! *****

Hi Everyone! 🙂 This month we are starting a well known tradition in the beauty community on our blog. If you watch youtube religiously like I do then you know what I’m talking about. Its a blog post where Shan and I will go through all the products that we loved for the month before and share them with you 🙂

Here are a couple products that Shannon and I loved for the month of April:

Avalon Face Serum

What I love so much about this serum is that it is free of parabens, artificial colours and synthetic fragrences. This makes my skin glow and can be used day or night for any skin type. In addition to it's anti-aging benefits and antioxidants, this serum is citrus scented and provides light moisturization

Benefits Dallas Blush:

This is the perfect blend of blush and bronzer. I use it to contour but it also provides a nice flush of colour.

Carmex Lipbalm (stick form)

I have incessantly dry lips. This is the only thing that works to relieve them! I don't know why, but I find carmex in the stick works the best.

This palette has been my go to palette since I was lucky enough to purchase it off the Sephora website back at the end of January 2011. It came with the dual ended eyeliner as opposed to the eyeshadow brush that they are now coming with and I was so excited because I have never tried the 24/7 pencils before 🙂

Maybelline Mineral Power Foundation:

I bought this foundation on sale at Wal-Mart a while back. Being on sale I think that I could have gone for a shade darker, but I took what I could get at the price. I tried it once..then kinda set it aside. I recently started using it again and I'm in love!! Its the perfect coverage and glides on like a breeze. It also doesn't break me out which is a big plus.

Nivea Kiss Of Shimmer Lip Balm:

Although this is a lip balm, it has been my go to lipstick for the last month or so. It provides light moisture all the while leaving a nice pink frost to your lips. You know how I love me some pink frosted lips! That and because its a lip balm its super comfortable to wear. Its not as moisturizing and some other lip balms, but it certainly does the job.

Thats everything for this month! If we think of anything else we’ll upload it, but for now here they are!

Thanks so much for reading,

Shannon and Caitlin

Hi Everyone,

48 Hours Later and this two part review has come to a close.

My final thoughts on the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Lip Colour:

I found that I liked this product when it dried a lot more than the Revlon one. It was a bit sticky when I dried, but then once the balm was applied over it, it was the perfect feel, it wasn’t drying throughout the day either! It was just liked letting your lips be your lips, if that makes sense. The colour that I chose was perfect for me, because for some reason I am a big fan of light pink frosted lips!

With Lip Colour Applied

I am sad to say that the colour did not last the 24 hours as expected. The Revlon one lasted through a shower, washing my face, and going for a run. I did the same with this lip colour and unfortunately it did not last through washing my face at the end of the night around 11:30. To be fair, it is hard to say whether or not the 24 hours as advertised includes washing your face. However, the Revlon one did seem to hold up through it. I applied the balm once at the beginning of the day when I waited for the colour to dry and didn’t feel the need to apply again throughout the day.

I like the Maybelline colour and wear a lot better. It wasn’t sticky throughout the day, the balm took that away and even though it didn’t last through as much as the Revlon one did, I don’t see myself wearing a colour for 24 hours anyway, so the long wear that I got from it sufficed. It was also nice that it came off at the end of the night when I washed my face, (aka: when I was ready for it to come off)as opposed to the Revlon lip colour that had to be removed with a makeup remover.

I liked the colour selection of the Maybelline better, they seemed to have a lot more variety in terms of textures and shades. If you are looking for a long wear lip colour that isn’t drying try this one out!  Its a great buy, especially since I got mine on sale at Wal-Mart. They’re both great lip products but when it comes down to it I would recommend the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Colour.
